Paget House, shown here, was an exciting challenge to restore to its former glory. The house was originally built for George Paget in 1903 by William Proudfoot. Proudfoot built several prominent Victorian homes in Huntsville. When Bert French & Son Limited bought the house in 1989, it was found to be well preserved with many of its original features intact. We were fortunate that only two rooms of the house had been modernized. Before the walls were repaired or painted we checked carefully for the original colours of paint and wallpaper. The light fixtures dated back to hydro's first appearance in Huntsville around 1930, and we had them scrubbed, polished, rewired and reinstalled. Our purpose was to create executive suite offices with a home-like atmosphere and the results of the restoration are a pleasure to view from inside and outside.
